The Amazing Race Across the Garden State
Well, here it is... The complete photo album of our NJ Monthly contest entry. Granted, we know we didn't win... we have JOBS and couldn't drop everything to prance...er, drive around Jersey. It was tons of fun. Some of the landmarks, we had seen before; others, we always wanted to see; and even others, we didn't even know existed. Definitely have to make another stop at the Lakota Wolf Preserve and Albert Music Hall. Click Here to see the slideshow.

A Fourth of Tillie
This weekend was pretty busy.
Friday night, we saw "Cars" which was really cute (and long); Newman's caracter (sorry, I had to) was pretty well-formed for a cartoon. Saturday, we ran around Rutgers trying to find the RAC because they had put new floor down in the Lewis Brown Athletic Center and it didn't match the flooring in the NJ Monthly magazine which students said was located in the RAC (the next day, I went on line to find out that the RAC and the Lewis Brown are the same building) and Lucky made a yummy crab leg dinner.
Sunday was spent at the Yogi Berra Museum Skybox for my brother-in-law's 40th birthday. Although I detest "America's National Pasttime," it was kinda fun. We could see the whole field; the skybox was A/C'd on one of Jersey's most humid days; and because it wasn't telecasted, the game actually went rather quickly... the Jackals won.
Monday, Lucky went kayaking and afterwards, we completed the Race by finally finding Case Family Cemetary. The next day we celebrated Independence Day by marching in the Asbury Park parade with the SaveTillie float. Lucky had never been in a parade before (I was in Girl Scouts and marched in tons of parades) and he actually got to hold the banner with president Bob Crane. It was nice to hear the locals, young and old, cheering on Tillie as he held on to the carousel horse. "We miss you" "When are you coming back?!" We were behind the Lesbian and Gay Big Apple Corps which definitely was impressive. But Bob made a noble attempt to keep up with his creative banner choreography!
PS: I will keep you posted regarding Tillie's new housing plans as they come up.

How NJ are you?
You Are 96% New Jersey!Wow, you're totally Jersey. There's no doubt about it. Congratulations, and always be proud to be Jersey--it's a great thing to be!
How New Jersey Are You?
I think that it would have been higher but I don't know anyone on my street who's in the mafia... however I did know a NJ mortician who handled the funerals of the Staten Island mafia, and another guy who was on the run from the mob because of gambling debts (ya, I found that out AFTER I let him rent out my second bedroom for a month!).
Thanks to KateSpot for pointing me towards the quiz.
